What you'll be doing
This Clinical Midwife Educator (CME) role focuses on supporting professional growth and clinical excellence in midwifery care, ensuring improved patient outcomes and service quality. Your responsibilities will also include:
- Developing and evaluating clinical education programs in collaboration with staff and management.
- Supporting best practice in patient care through tailored education initiatives.
- Assisting staff with mandatory and professional midwifery education compliance.
- Facilitating learning and assessment for students and new graduates in the Women’s Health Ward.
- Promoting high standards in clinical practice and staff development.

Essential Criteria:
- Current Registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria:
- Applicant holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward/unit level
- Demonstrated effective and high level communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolutions skills in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage people in the clinical setting
- Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching utilising adult learning principles
- Strong commitment to the on-going development/enhancement of midwifery practice within a patient centred, multi-disciplinary clinical environment
