About the role:
The Clinical Midwife Educator (CME) for Maternity at John Hunter Hospital is instrumental in providing leading education to our midwives, in turn allowing them to provide the highest level of maternity services. On any given day, you will be you will be involved in providing education to junior staff and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 

You won’t be working alone. You will be supported by the Midwifery Unit Managers and Deputy Director of Nursing and Midwifery (Maternity & Gynaecology), as well as the Senior Midwives. The culture is very supportive, where innovation and collaboration are at the forefront of everything they do. Mentorship is available to support your growth, and you will be both encouraged and pursue further training and development as you grow your career, including secondments to different areas within the Midwifery service.

It is the leading health facility in Newcastle and supports all levels of complex midwifery and birthing services. Requirements:

• Current midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Holds a post graduate qualification in Midwifery (preferably Masters level) with a demonstrated focus on education, teaching and clinical leadership.
• Eligibility to drive and willingness to travel for work purposes.
