We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Allied Health Assistant to join our team at Central Coast Local Health District. This role is pivotal in facilitating high-quality care for our clients by providing essential clinical and administrative support under the supervision of qualified Allied Health Practitioners. You will have the opportunity to work across a range of Allied Health disciplines, contributing to a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
As an Allied Health Assistant, you will assist the team with direct patient care, including routine evaluations, preparing patients for treatment, and providing service information. You will help assess patient needs to inform activity programs and assist in delivering therapeutic activities as prescribed by Allied Health Professionals. Administrative duties such as word processing, phone calls, photocopying, maintaining inventory records, and monitoring resource utilisation are also key aspects of the role. You will participate in regular professional practice supervision and performance management processes to continuously improve service quality. Effective reporting of patient-related information to supervisors and team members is crucial for informed care planning and treatment. Additionally, you will rotate between sites and clinical areas as directed, manage time efficiently, and use effective engagement strategies to support patient participation in programs.
About You
- You hold a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant/relevant qualification or willingness to undertake this training.
- Current unencumbered NSW driver’s licence and the ability and willingness to travel across sites for meetings and clinical care provision.
- You have previous experience working in a health environment, with a range of patient cohorts across inpatient, outpatient and/or community settings.
Where You'll be Working
You will be based at Wyong Hospital with possibility of travelling to other sites with the District.
