The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer will work with members of the Enterprise Data Warehouse for Analysis, Reporting and Decision support (EDWARD) technical team on the architecture, design, development and deployment of Data Warehouse and business intelligence systems. The primary purpose of a BI Developer is to design and implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to extract data from various sources, transform and cleanse it, and load it into the data warehouse and ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the ETL process.
Health Manager level 3, starting salary from $127,150 - $144,444 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38-hour work week.
What you will do
- Utilise technical expertise in the analysis of user requirements, translate business requirements into design and configuration recommendations, and engage and negotiate with stakeholders to provide high quality BI solutions.
- Assume responsibility of the design, development, testing, support and enhancement of the data models and data marts to facilitate efficient data retrieval and reporting.
- Execute the design, implementation, and unit testing - Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to extract data from various sources, transform and cleanse it, and load it into the data warehouse.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of BI solutions to ensure timely and efficient data retrieval and reporting. Identify and address bottlenecks and optimize query performance.
- Work in a fast-paced team using agile project management methodologies.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Information Technology (or equivalent).
- Sound knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts, performance tuning T-SQL using execution plan analysis, Dimensional Modelling concepts (Facts/Dimensions) and proficient in source control practices using GIT.
- Demonstrated experience working in both project and production support environments independently when required as well as in a team-based environment.
- Demonstrated experience working in SSIS and working on T-SQL within SQL Server (2012+).
- Familiar with Agile operational methodology, DevOps principles, Microsoft Azure cloud services and Power BI.
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills with a proven ability to solve problems including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources and deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused solutions.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate issues and solutions in a simple manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, using Agile project management methodologies.
