Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Cumberland and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. The Resident Pharmacist is responsible for the provision of quality pharmaceutical services to inpatients and outpatients at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals through a structured practice-based experiential training program. The resident Program provides early hospital career pharmacists the opportunity to develop competency in various aspects of hospital pharmacy practice and diversify their career paths.

- Qualification: Pharmacy qualifications conferred by tertiary education institutions e.g. Bachelor of Pharmacy Registration: Full and unrestricted Pharmacist registration with AHPRA
Selection Criteria:
- Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (or eligible for registration within 3 months of commencement).
- Ability to apply current and good practical therapeutic knowledge in a clinical environment.
- Demonstrated ongoing commitment to the professional development relevant to areas of practice.
- Demonstrated understanding of the priorities and requirements of hospital pharmacy.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in undertaking tasks such as dispensing.
- Ability to rotate across WSLHD sites, participate in flexible work hours, on-call, afterhours, weekend and public holiday work as required.
- Proven commitment to professional development, continuing education and pharmacy research, including membership of a professional pharmacy association, preferably the Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha)
