About your new job:
An exciting opportunity exists for an assistant in nursing (AIN) to join the team in the Haemodialysis unit at the Tamworth Hospital that operates two shifts, six days a week to provide haemodialysis treatments to patients with End Stage Kidney Disease. This is a 17-chair unit that provides care to inpatients as well as outpatients. On any given day, you will be assisting the Registered Nurses (RN’s) and Enrolled Nurses (EN’s) with patient care during the dialysis treatment, establishing and maintaining the dialysis treatment area, and maintaining cleanliness and infection control standards within the clinical haemodialysis environment. You will also assist with basic clinical tasks such as observations, weighing patients and recording haemodialysis machine observations.
Providing emotional support and reassurance to the patient undergoing dialysis treatments is key – if you are energetic, keen to learn, has initiative and can prioritise your workload, we want to hear from you!
You won’t be working alone. You’ll be provided with a supported education program with the Nurse Educator and be given supernumerary shifts to support learning of the role. You will receive ongoing support from the EN’s, RN’s and the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM).
