About the role: 

John Hunter Hospital’s maternity services are looking for motivated, kind, respectful Assistants in Midwifery to join their team. As our successful candidate, you will be working with women and midwives in the birthing and postnatal units; giving you hands-on experience in midwifery whilst completing your degree. You will be working in a supportive environment amongst the multi-disciplinary team providing women centred care to the women of the Hunter. This role offers clinical support which is available from the education, management and broader midwifery team – grow your skills whilst you study!

Requirements:

  • Currently attending the Bachelor of Midwifery Degree at an Australian University and have successfully completed first year full time equivalent of studies (or part time of 2 years), with a commitment to remain an active participant in the Bachelor of Midwifery throughout your employment with HNELHD.
  • Have passed all AMSATS for all semesters prior to application for AIM

Additional information:

  • To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
