About the role:

Working under the direction of the Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist, this role will see you complete various clinical and administrative tasks, including implementing therapy programs, delivering and setting up equipment, transporting clients to appointments and completing statistics.

To aid your success in this role, you will receive clinical support from our skilled multidisciplinary team and Program Manager. Professional development and mandatory training will be made available based on role requirements and professional goals.

Where you’ll be working:

Based at Newcastle Community Health Centre, Rehabilitation in the Home (RITH) is a 6-week in-home rehabilitation service offered to patients aged 18-70 following a recent hospital admission. The client mix is diverse, and clients reside across three local government areas (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens). The service provides evidence-based assessment and intervention, and clients are managed by a Rehabilitation Specialist.

About You:

We are looking for someone with the ability to build and maintain a good rapport with clients. You should be able to take direction and feedback from teammates, be flexible and adaptable, and have excellent time management, organisational and communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively with health professionals in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Allied Health Professional.

  • To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified for the position; in this instance, you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
