Where you'll be working
Ryde Hospital is currently undergoing an exciting $479 million Redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community. The Redevelopment will result in new and enhanced health facilities and services including emergency, critical care, inpatient, community, ambulatory care services and more. With construction commenced early 2023, this is an opportunity for you to form part of the team that will transform the future of health Services in the Ryde Community.

What you'll be doing
To provide effective clinical management of patients, under appropriate supervision, including patient assessment, making treatment decisions, performing procedures and maintaining adequate medical records; and to develop expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. This includes supervised general medical management of patients admitted to specialist departments in consultation with the Attending Medical Officer (AMO). The General Medicine Advanced Trainee is expected to adopt a progressively more independent approach to patient management according to their experience, under the guidance of, and at the discretion of the Attending
Medical Officer (AMO). The Advanced Trainee will spend 12 months in this accredited position in General Medicine and may in addition gain experience in specialty areas including Neurology, Renal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Geriatric Medicine, Respiratory Medicine and Endocrinology. 

  1. Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the planning, delivery and coordination of patient care.
  3. High level communication skills, including the ability to convey, and adapt verbal and written information to a clinical and non-clinical audience
  4. Demonstrated good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
  5. Demonstrated high level independent clinical skills and judgement, with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve with an awareness of limitations and ability to learn independently and modify behaviour accordingly.
  6. Previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.
  7. Demonstrated interest and commitment to General and Acute Care Medicine Advanced Training program including ongoing education, research and training.
