Activity Nurse Mental Health – Blue Mountains Mental Health Unit

What you will bring to the role 

1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
2. Demonstrated previous experience work with mental health consumers and the ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient centre-care/trauma informed care principles, as well as the Mental Health Act 2007.
3. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
4. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
5. Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
6. Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning to maintain current registration as a registered nurse.
7. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations. Experience of developing, leading, coordinating and evaluating specialised mental health activity programs in ward-based environments.
8. Demonstrated commitment and understanding of the NSW Health CORE values: Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment
