Selection Criteria

  1. This is an identified Aboriginal position. (An applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 NSW). Relevant qualification in Bachelor of Social Work which provides eligibility for membership to Australian Association of Social Workers or Degree in Psychology with full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia or Education Centre Against Violence (ECAV) Aboriginal Pathway Advanced Diploma of Aboriginal Specialist Trauma Counselling.
  2. Demonstrated ability to provide culturally informed trauma counselling and care coordination within a violence, abuse and neglect setting.
  3. Demonstrated high level understanding of the inter-related dynamics and effects of child sexual assault and the long term impact on adults and the impact of intergenerational trauma for families, and community.
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with Aboriginal communities and commitment to addressing Aboriginal health and community needs.
  5. Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated capacity to work in partnership with others.
  6. Demonstrated experience in participation and/or provision of clinical and cultural supervision appropriate with level of experience.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence based practice and a commitment to ongoing clinical and professional development.
  8. Current NSW drivers licence or willingness to travel across the District as required.
