It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.

  

The Opportunity

In this role, the Aboriginal Outreach Worker will form part of a collaborative professional team providing culturally appropriate support and care in partnership with the Chronic Care Coordinators to people with a chronic disease. Working with the Chronic Care Coordinators the role will establish links with Aboriginal communities and with  individuals, identify barriers to managing health, and encourage and support access to health services.

The Ideal Candidate is someone who...

  • Holds a Certificate III in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or currently enrolled or has relevant Aboriginal health qualification and a willingness to undertake further training as identified.

  

This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1977.
