Aboriginal Health Practitioner (Identified)

What you will bring to the role:

1. This is an identified Aboriginal position. Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District considers that being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW. Applicants must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and have established links with their local Aboriginal community.
2. Holds a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) and who is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
3. Demonstrated understanding of the health issues impacting on Aboriginal clients & their families.
4. Demonstrate ability to plan develop and deliver health education initiatives.
5. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and to liaise/negotiate with other health professionals to facilitate and promote culturally sensitive health care.
6. Ability to work autonomously in facilitating a range of clinical assessments and case management processes within the scope of practice and plan and prioritise workload effectively and efficiently.
7. Demonstrated effective written & verbal communication skills and basic computer skills.
8. Current driver's licence and willingness to use for work purposes. This may include driving long distances across the LHD.
