About these roles

There are two roles for data leaders within the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence, supporting public and internal reporting of population health data.

Crown Clerk 11/12, starting salary from $145,378 - $168,130 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing
The Principal Biostatistician is responsible for leadership and delivery in the acquisition, reporting and analysis of health system data. The role provides the technical delivery, refinement and maintenance of data pipelines, statistical and ad hoc analysis of complex datasets, expert advice, and general support on a full range of projects. The role will also work in partnership with eHealth NSW to ensure NSW Health applications are optimally designed, maintained and enhanced. The work will support the development of population health policies and broader public health objectives.

About you 
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

•    Postgraduate qualification in biostatistics or equivalent, with relevant work experience.
•    Extensive experience in statistical programming language such as SAS and R, or equivalent.
•    Demonstrated experience in analysing and managing large complex datasets using SQL
•    Strong understanding of population health and health data.
