About the Role
This role is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating risk management policies and programs, training Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) employees in work health and safety procedures, monitoring and auditing the workplace, and recording and investigating incidents to ensure safe and health working conditions. The position is maintaining a robust safety management system within MNCLHD.
Assisting with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards and practices and providing professional advice in respect to compliance with WHS legislation, standards and codes of practice. Undertaking workplace investigations including the gathering of evidence, determining contributing factors, root causes, corrective actions and systemic approaches to improved health, safety and wellbeing outcomes.
This is a District based role working 2 days per week. We have offices in Coffs Harbour, Kempsey and Port Macquarie.
About You
You will require relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience in Work, & Health & Safety along with effective communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Demonstrated proficiency in time management and organisational skills with ability to meet predetermined targets and deadlines as well as ability to be flexible and adapt work practices to suit circumstances to ensure the MNCLHD priorities are met.
