Sydney Local Health District is seeking a highly motivated Unaccredited Trainee to join the Urology Department Team at RPA Hospital
What you will be doing:
To provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment
Principles & Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the day to day medical care of both inpatients and outpatient of the hospital.
- Participate on after-hours roster covering the hospital.
- Take part in the teaching of residents and medical students.
- Take part in or initiate research projects within the Division
- Organisational duties within the department including MDT meetings.
- Supervision of day to day clinical management of the unit and efficient team management
During your shift, you will be supervised by a consultant supervisor.
The Department of Urology
The RPA Urology Department provides treatment to all Urological malignancies and benign conditions of the urinary system. These include cancers of the kidney, bladder, prostate, testis, urethra and penis. Benign conditions of the urinary system, incontinence, stone disease, stricture of the urethra are also serviced by the Department. The Department is well equipped with the latest instrumentation for laser treatment of stone disease and benign prostatic hypertrophy. It is also equipped for laparoscopic treatment of urological diseases when appropriate. Renal transplantations are also provided by the Department in conjunction with the Renal Unit at RPA.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated commitment Surgical Training.
- Ability to prioritise, organise, meet multiple demands and to effectively work as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Interest and ability to participate in a teaching program and ability to conduct research.
- A minimum of 3 years completed post graduate experience on commencement.
