This is a Temporary Part Time 16 hours per week leave relief position until 19 October 2025 with the possibility of extension.

What you'll be doing
The Senior Podiatrist is responsible for the effective management of the Podiatry Clinic. This position is responsible for providing quality specialised clinical services to a complex caseload involving clients with diabetes and high risk feet (for example diabetes or vascular conditions). This includes those with ulceration, infection, neuro-arthropathy and amputation. The complexity of these clients requires clinical expertise, knowledge and advanced reasoning and practice skills.
This position will provide direction to administrative staff, other clinicians, and students. The podiatrist, together with the ISLHD Head of Podiatry, will also be responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating, and reporting on this service.

This role is a Category A role. Preferred applicants will be reviewed for compliance and required to maintain compliance with the screening, assessment and vaccination requirements, relevant to your position, as outlined in NSW Health policy directive on Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases.
For positions designated as child-related employment, or positions that may result in proximity to children, you will be required to obtain a Working with Children clearance number from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
To obtain a WWCC clearance number, follow the instructions on the website of Service NSW, which includes completing an online application form and then attending a Service NSW Centre or a NSW Council Agency that provides Road and Maritime Services, to provide proof of identity and pay for the WWCC to be completed.
Please note that a volunteer WWCC (which is free) cannot be used for paid employment.
Selection Criteria:
- Registered/eligible for registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - AHPRA)
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and post-graduate experience in the management of high risk foot pathology (including ulceration, infection, neuro-arthropathy, and post-amputation management)
- Demonstrated ability to independently problem solve and set priorities in complex situations
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and ability to contribute to planning and evaluation of services
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision and support to staff and students
- Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands
- Commitment to participating in and providing ongoing professional development in the area of high risk foot pathology, utilising evidence based practice
