About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join the acute cardiorespiratory team at Liverpool Hospital in a Permanent full-time capacity. The successful candidate will work closely with the multidisciplinary team in ICU and cardiothoracic wards and clinics, and with the physiotherapy department to provide high quality care to patients with cardiac conditions at Liverpool Hospital.
The position will oversee cardiothoracic ICU, cardiology and cardiothoracic wards and cardiac rehabilitation and will have clinical supervision responsibilities of Level 1/2 physiotherapists on rotation to those wards, as well as holding a clinical caseload.
What You'll be Doing
The Senior Level 4 Cardiothoracic Physiotherapist is responsible as a member of the multi-disciplinary team for providing high quality physiotherapy services for patients admitted to Liverpool Hospital for cardiothoracic surgery and intensive care. This includes service evaluation and development, and use of advanced reasoning and clinical practice skills in managing cardiothoracic surgery and intensive care patients of a novel or complex nature. The Senior Cardiothoracic Physiotherapist also provides consultation and education across SWSLHD and other services state-wide in specialised assessment and treatment of clients post cardiothoracic surgery and intensive care.

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

- Current Physiotherapy Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Extensive clinical specialty experience including demonstrated advanced practice skills and management of a complex physiotherapy caseload.
- Demonstrated experience in providing clinical leadership, consultation, supervision and education for staff and/or students.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and ability to implement evidence based practice.
- Demonstrated leadership, skills and experience in the planning and implementation of quality improvement, research and service development activities.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated extensive level of clinical knowledge and expertise in the physiotherapy management of cardiothoracic surgery as well as management of patients in intensive care units with trauma, neurosurgical, respiratory and other surgical conditions of complex nature.
