The Centre for Oral Health Strategy leads the strategic development and coordination of oral health policy and programs for NSW. The Centre monitors the implementation of population health-based oral health prevention initiatives and public oral health service delivery in NSW.


Health Manager level HM3, starting salary from $127,150 - $144,444 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 38 hours work week.


What you will do


The Centre for Oral Health Strategy has responsibility for the development and management of a range of critical information systems that support NSW Oral Health's core service delivery, management, and strategic direction. Data is predominantly collected using the Titanium or Unity Electronic Oral Health Record system and may also include other disparate systems.  Our reporting landscape includes a variety of products such as Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI and AWS Snowflake among many other evolving platforms within NSW Health.


The Senior Business Analyst/Developer undertakes and manages the review and analysis of the organisation's business intentions, services, processes, and information needs to identify changes that lead to business improvements.  The primary role of the position provides the bridge between business stakeholders and development teams so that the business stakeholder’s requirements are clearly understood and successfully implemented in systems and related frameworks.  The key role is to prepare detailed specification documentation which describes business workflow, data collection, and application functionality to facilitate the development of performance reports to meet the needs of NSW Health’s strategic goals.  As a secondary function, the position will be required to support and produce ad hoc data and analytical requests while undertaking routine reporting tasks as needed to ensure data deliverables are delivered on time.


About you


We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  1. Demonstrated technical capability in relation to Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI and Reporting Services, data warehousing, data visualization and automation techniques using popular industry software packages and relevant scripting or programming languages.
  2. Extensive experience managing the review and analysis of complex ICT business processes and services in a large and complex service industry organisation, including relevant qualifications or equivalent. This includes demonstrated experience in improving business performance by adopting innovative business analysis solutions.
  3. Extensive experience in analysing, working, testing, and maintaining service management systems as well as delivering project outcomes on time and to the expected levels of quality, including the demonstrated ability to identify and manage risks within a project.
  4. Strong analytical and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret user business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  6. At least 2 years experience as a Developer / Business Analyst, preferably with experience in a health setting.
