About the Role
We have a Full-Time permanent position on offer reporting to the District Director, Clinical Acute Services.
Reporting to the District Director, this role provides strategic and cultural leadership across the Clinical Acute Services, with a strong focus on delivering culturally safe, trauma-informed and person-centred care. The role drives initiatives that promote health equity, strengthen Aboriginal health outcomes and build meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services, consumers, communities and key stakeholders across MNCLHD sites and services.
The position provides senior cultural leadership and support to Aboriginal staff, departmental leads and direct reports, while developing and monitoring performance measures that embed culturally safe practice and support high-quality service delivery. The role also provides strategic advice to senior leadership on cultural safety, emerging risks and mitigation strategies through a risk management lens.
A key component of the role is leading consumer and community engagement, including committees, forums and co-design processes, to ensure Aboriginal people and communities have a meaningful voice in shaping accessible, culturally safe and responsive health services. Through strong partnerships, cultural leadership and a commitment to health equity, the role supports the organisation to strengthen outcomes and create services that are safe, inclusive and responsive to the needs of the communities it serves.
