Shape the Future of Quality Control in this newly created role! NSWHP is seeking an experienced QC Scientist to pioneer our innovative Statewide QC Standardisation Program. We operate more than 60 laboratories and around 200 collection centres across NSW and conduct over 60 million tests per annum. Our network of pathologists are supported by scientists, technicians and support staff who quickly and accurately assess samples so clinical teams can make the best possible treatment decisions for patients. What you'll be doing

The Project Manager/Scientific Project Lead, manages the risk, quality and progress of the projects required as part of the SW Quality Control Standardisation Program to organisational standards, and ensures projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope. The Project Manager will develop and maintain project documents and schedules, develop the business case for the program, work closely with the Program Manager and Program Services Team, project sponsors and key stakeholders, ensuring the benefits of the program are realised by the business.

  1. Relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience of pathology processes in Quality Control practice and management across all disciplines including sound practical knowledge of relevant QC standards and accreditation obligations in addition to knowledge of clinical and/or scientific laboratory operations.
  2. Experience and a record of achievement in leading and managing complex and large projects in a healthcare setting.
  3. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to manage project scope, monitor project progress, identify and manage project risks and provide appropriate advice at a senior level project outcomes.
  4. Highly developed analytical, negotiation and problem solving skills within a complex environment, to deal with challenges creatively and achieve business focused solutions.
  5. Demonstrated organisational skills and experience working in a high volume and demanding professional environment.
  6. Highly developed interpersonal and written communication skills including the ability to produce project documents, reports, and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders providing high quality customer focused services.
  7. Proven proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Teams, as well as demonstrated experience using project management software and familiarity with BioRad Unity QC Management Software.
  8. Current driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites across as needed and approved.
