About us:
RAMHP is s state-wide program aiming to strengthen regional, rural and remote communities through mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention strategies and connections that enable individuals, communities and agencies to prepare for and better respond in times of adversity. RAMHP walks beside people, to help navigate referral pathways and engage with appropriate supports. RAMHP are pivotal during times of adversity, working with a range of key partners, providing support in Recovery Centres and Mobile Outreach to ensure that individuals in impacted communities access the right care at the right time. The location for this position is Tamworth and you will be working with the other four RAMHP coordinators within HNELHD and with the Tamworth Mental Health Service.


About the role:
A typical day in the life of a RAMHP coordinator could involve working within any of the four pillars of the program:

  • You could be linking an individual who needs assistance for their mental health to the most appropriate service and resources or delivering standardised, high-quality mental health training to build knowledge and understanding among community members and workplaces. E.g., Training of first responders, Vets, Local Land Services staff, Volunteer Agencies such as RFS, SES
  • You will be working in partnership with stakeholders to create pathways to care and flexible interagency/cross sector responses to priority groups and issues. E.g., Vinnies NSW, DPI Rural Recovery Support Officers, Red Cross etc. You will also inform communities and target audiences through producing and disseminating information about mental health and available resources and services via the RAMHP website, e-newsletter, interagency networks, and social media channels.


About you:
We are seeking an individual who is able to work autonomously, is innovative and passionate about improving the mental wellbeing of rural communities. You will be accomplished in delivering education and training and have the ability to communicate your mental health knowledge to different target audiences. Being relatable, flexible and being able to forward plan and juggle the competing needs of communities will assist you to excel in this role.
