Join St George Hospital as a Resident Medical Officer with rotations available in specialty medicine, specialty surgery, psychiatry, emergency, O&G, paediatrics, ICU and rural Griffith (emergency and general medicine) terms.

The primary location of this position will be, St George Hospital however you may be allocated to one of our Network sites which include: The Sutherland Hospital, Calvary Hospital, Justice Health, Griffith Base Hospital and Kirketon Road Centre / Kings Cross Sexual Health Service. St George Hospital and Health Services is an accredited, principal teaching hospital of the University of New South Wales. It is the largest hospital within South Eastern Sydney Local Health District with 627 inpatient beds. St George Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Centre and a leading centre for trauma and emergency management in NSW. Selection Criteria

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category or eligible for general registration via the Competent Authority
  2. Must have completed intern (PGY1) year
  3. Have completed 12 months experience working as a medical officer (not observer) in an Australian Public Hospital or within a comparable public hospital setting
  4. Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and computer skills.
  5. A professional attitude and flexibility in work role with a preparedness and ability to participate in after-hours overtime and on-call rosters.
  6. Willingness to work and rotate in different hospitals within the network, including rural hospital
  7. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment
