Where you'll be working
Tamworth Hospital is the principal referral hospital for the Northern Sector of Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD), providing services to a population of more than 180,000 people. As a major rural referral facility, the hospital delivers a broad range of specialist services including emergency, medical, surgical, maternity, critical care, mental health, rehabilitation and outpatient care.
Located in the vibrant regional centre of Tamworth, the hospital is a teaching facility affiliated with the University of Newcastle. What you'll be doing
The Tamworth Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is an 8-bed specialist unit providing high-level cardiac care to patients across the northern half of Hunter New England Health, with over 1,500 presentations each year. The unit is located adjacent to the cardiac catheterisation laboratory, offering a unique opportunity to care for patients immediately post-angiography and cardiac intervention.
CCU is a small, friendly unit that values teamwork, collaboration and a strong multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach to delivering high-quality cardiac care.
As a Registered Nurse in the Coronary Care Unit, you will:
- Deliver excellent, patient-centred nursing care to optimise health outcomes for patients, families, and carers
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide complex cardiac care
- Operate on a rotating roster, covering all shifts across seven days
- Access flexible rostering options, including 12-hour shifts as well as 8–10 hour shifts
- Work in a supportive and professional environment that encourages growth and learning

You are a friendly, caring and collaborative Registered Nurse who is:
- Passionate and motivated about delivering high-quality cardiac care
- Organised and committed to professional practice
- Able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledgeable in, or willing to develop skills in, the care of complex cardiac patients
- Dedicated to ensuring nursing practice aligns with quality and safety standards
