Where You’ll Be Working
The Tamworth Northwest Cancer Centre (NWCC) is a comprehensive regional service including Medical Oncology, Haematology, Radiation Oncology, and a Clinical Trials Unit. You’ll join a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled professionals, including Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNC), Nurse Practitioners, and specialist cancer care coordinators, all committed to patient-centred care. The Centre features an infusion suite with 9 treatment chairs, with capacity for future growth to 14, and a team culture built on collaboration, respect, openness, and empowerment.
About the Role
In this role, you’ll work across all areas of the Cancer Centre, gaining exposure to the diverse aspects of oncology care. You may be rostered in Radiation Oncology or Medical Oncology/Haematology, providing high-quality, patient-centred care, including administration of complex chemotherapy protocols and supportive therapies.
You will be fully supported from day one, with a structured orientation and ongoing guidance from the Oncology Clinical Nurse Educator, ensuring a smooth transition into the team. This is an excellent opportunity to build your oncology expertise in a regional setting, collaborate closely with colleagues across the Northwest, and contribute to holistic care for patients at every stage of their cancer journey.
The Centre operates Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, providing variety in shifts while maintaining work-life balance in a progressive and supportive work environment.
Who You Are
You are compassionate, open, and professional, with a strong understanding of the complex needs of cancer patients. You have Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA, experienced in chemotherapy administration and completion of Cancer Institute NSW eviQ Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course (ADAC) or willingness to complete and Graduate Certificate in Cancer Nursing or similar or willingness to work towards the same. You bring excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to ongoing professional development and self-directed learning. Oncology or acute care experience is highly regarded, and you are willing to work across all areas of the Cancer Centre to support optimal patient outcomes.
