Newcastle Community Mental Health Service, based at the James Fletcher Hospital site and servicing Nelson Bay and Raymond Terrace, is committed to delivering high-quality mental health care to our community. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team at our Raymond Terrace site. Our service focuses on a collaborative approach to mental health, promoting an environment of innovation and support for both staff and clients.


About your new role: 
As a Registered Nurse with Newcastle Community Mental Health Service, you will provide exceptional clinical care to clients and their families/caregivers. Your role will directly contribute to achieving the best possible health outcomes for service users. Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you will be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, providing essential services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You must be capable of working both independently and within a team, maintaining high standards of care and professionalism in both settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, client-centered care within a mental health service setting.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families/caregivers.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with service protocols.
  • Participate in regular supervision, professional development, and training sessions.

About you: 
You are a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with significant experience in mental health care. Your ability to thrive in a busy and fast-paced environment, combined with your expertise in a variety of clinical settings, makes you an ideal candidate for this role. You possess strong interpersonal skills and are committed to working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Additionally, you demonstrate autonomy, initiative, and efficiency when working independently.

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
