About the role:
As a Radiation Therapy Supervisor, you will ensure the provision of efficient and safe patient centred radiation therapy services to include all aspects of simulation, planning and treatment delivery. You will provide support and leadership to a small team of radiation therapists, whilst also working with the Chief Radiation therapist to maintain service delivery targets. You will support the Chief Radiation Therapist’s role in the day to day running of the service, ensuring efficiency and safe delivery in both clinical and non-clinical roles. This role will see you lead and support the Radiotherapy team, maintain departmental protocols, and initiate and contribute to research and quality improvement projects to facilitate maintaining high standards of patient care utilising evidenced based practices.
You will be supported in this role by the Chief Radiation Therapist, Senior Radiation Therapists, and the Radiation Therapy Educator. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive orientation into the role and any training will be provided in both clinical and non-clinical roles.

The North West Cancer Centre is located on the campus of the Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital on Gomilaroi and Kamilaroi Land, and comprises of a small, albeit expert, team providing an extensive Oncology service to a large catchment area in the Hunter New England region, spanning from the Upper Hunter to the outlying Tablelands. You will be working within the Radiation Oncology Unit as part of a team of Radiation Therapists, along with the wider multidisciplinary team.
About you:
The successful candidate is preferred to have extensive experience in Radiotherapy planning and also be capable of the administration of the Oncology Information System and other. Our successful candidate must be a good team player, abide by our CORE values, and be flexible in their work practices.
Requirements:
- Registered as a Radiation Therapist with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA) as regulated by the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Holds or eligible to hold a NSW Radiation licence as issued by the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) regulatory body.
