Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Services is a major teaching hospital and tertiary referral centre, providing excellent healthcare to south-eastern Sydney and specialist health and medical services to NSW.

Our hospital is affiliated with various Universities and premier medical teaching facilities which enables our staff to provide excellence in healthcare in conjunction with our commitment to quality clinical teaching and leading medical research.

We currently have a 1 FTE vacancy for a Post Graduate Fellow position for the 2026 Clinical Year. There may be a possibility for extension with this appointment.

The primary location of this position may be varied as agreed with the Director of Clinical Services and as approved by MDAAC to other facilities in SESLHD.

What you'll be doing

The Post Graduate Fellow will provide high-quality care, expert medical assessment and management of patients within the Stroke Unit / NSW Telestroke Services of the Neurology Department, Prince of Wales Hospital.

To be eligible for this position, you must have at least 12 months of previous experience in stroke.

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
  2. At least four postgraduate years and successful completion of the RACP Divisional Clinical Exam or At least four postgraduate years and eligible to sit the RACP Divisional Clinical Exam.
  3. Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, including the sharing of appropriate information internally and externally with key person or services.
  5. Demonstrated communication to ongoing learning, teaching, research, quality improvement and/ or clinical leadership in medicine.
