Role: Provisional Fellow – Neurology (Dementia Clinic and NeuRA)

Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) is a medical research institute and significant neuroscience precinct in NSW. It commandeers research from advances in dementia and mental health to discoveries in chronic pain and falls prevention.

 

What you'll be doing

Our Provisional Fellow role will provide the successful applicant with advanced subspecialty skills in Neurology, Neuromuscular Medicine, with a focus on Motor Neurone Disease and participation within the Neurology Department. 

Involvement in Motor Neurone Disease clinics and a new Dementia Clinic at Prince of Wales Hospital constitute a core clinical component of the Fellowship. The fellow will be expected to actively participate in MND clinical trials holding the role of sub-investigator. The position will be supervised in collaboration with clinical and research staff at NeuRA and Prince of Wales Hospital Neurology Department.

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  2. Experience in medical research with previous publications is desirable.
  3. Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  5. Organisational ability, both personal organisation and ability to supervise others.
  6. Initiative in self-directed learning.
  7. Relevant Fellowship qualification is desirable - or may need to sit for a final exam at the end of training to attain Fellowship.
