What you'll be doing
The Provisional Fellow is also responsible for supervision of the junior trainees and the interns/RMOs, and for efficient, courteous and collaborative communication with the Nursing staff and the Allied Health members of the Department.
The Provisional Fellow will usually be the first point of contact for other Departments and their AMO’s who wish to consult with this Department about the care of their patients. In this role the Fellow should provide a prompt response, with early communication to the relevant Colorectal AMO.
The Provisional Fellow is responsible for the efficient organisation of the Department’s clinical meetings, including timely notification of patient lists to Radiology, Anatomical Pathology. S/he is also responsible for ensuring that all operating theatre lists are complete, accurate and on time.
- MBBS or equivalent, current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Minimum five years post graduate experience with previous experience in Colorectal Surgery, FRACS or equivalent.
- Sufficient skills, knowledge and experience to practice as a safe and competent surgeon
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills
- Demonstrated excellent time management and organisational skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in teaching both undergraduate & postgraduate students
- Demonstrated moderate computer skills and skills with NSW health computer based systems
