What you'll be doing
The Provisional Fellow shall acquire the requisite clinical skills and experience of an advanced trainee in intensive care medicine necessary to progress and achieve the qualification standards of an intensive care specialist, consistent with the training requirements of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (CICM).
The Provisional Fellow shall participate in continuing medical education (CME) and quality assurance (QA) programs, and in the supervision and teaching of other junior medical staff.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Current registration (or eligible for registration) with the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (CICM).
- Successful completion of foundation (6 months) and core training (24 months) in intensive care as specified by CICM, including the Primary CICM examination, or equivalent.
- Completion of 12 months of clinical anaesthesia.
- Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary, evidence-based best practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management and evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including CICM examinations and supervision of junior medical staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education / continuing professional development. Preparedness to participate in any on-call service, including on-call rosters already existing or established, if requested and credentialed.
