This is an exciting new role with the opportunity to specialise in respiratory medicine. The physiotherapist will work closely with the Physiotherapy and Respiratory Medicine Departments to deliver care to children and young people with cystic fibrosis and other respiratory conditions. There is opportunity to develop quality improvement and research initiatives and act as a consultant in this area.
What you'll be doing
The Senior Cystic Fibrosis and Respiratory physiotherapist will provide all outpatient physiotherapy services through Cystic Fibrosis clinics (CHW and outreach), CF treatment centre and the outpatient physiotherapy department. They will also develop and implement research and quality improvement activities in the area of Respiratory Medicine. The physiotherapist will have a teaching and consultative role within the CHW Physiotherapy Department and around the state.
In addition to the Cystic Fibrosis service the role will also include supervision/training of other physiotherapists who work in respiratory areas and cover of other respiratory-based clinics and services as workload allows and in cooperation with the Physiotherapy Department and its resources.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has current National Australian Physiotherapy Registration with AHPRA.
- Has significant experience working with children and adolescents with Cystic Fibrosis and other respiratory disorders.
- Has strong skills in cardiothoracic physiotherapy including the use of Evidence-Based Practice and the ability to share this knowledge with physiotherapists, other staff and clients.
