The Cancer Services Clinical Trials Pharmacist is based at Concord Repatriation General Hospital (CRGH), and works within the Cancer Services Pharmacy and the Investigative Drugs (Clinical Trials) Pharmacy under the CRGH Pharmacy Department. CRGH is a recognised leader in clinical trials and research, and the progressive application of evidence-based cancer therapies. As part of the Sydney Local Health District, the hospital supports a vibrant and growing cancer service, with strong links to local and international research networks. You’ll be part of a dynamic team committed to advancing cancer care through innovation, collaboration, and clinical excellence in a state-of-the-art facility.
What you’ll be doing
As the Cancer Services Clinical Trials Pharmacist, you will provide specialised pharmacist support for the management of clinical trials involving cancer therapies and advanced therapeutic products, as well as clinical pharmacy services to patients. Working across the Investigational Drugs (Clinical Trials) Pharmacy and Cancer Services Pharmacy, you will help ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant handling of investigational medicines, chemotherapeutic and supportive agents. You’ll collaborate closely with clinical trial investigators, research coordinators, medical and nursing staff, and the pharmacy team to support protocol adherence, medication preparation and dispensing, and the integration of novel therapies into patient care. Your contribution will be pivotal to delivering high-quality pharmacy services that enhance treatment options and outcomes for patients with cancer.
- Current pharmacist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions on practice.
- Grade 2 Pharmacists must meet the criteria set out in the award and are expected to be able to demonstrate continual ability to meet three of the five competencies within the award.
- Demonstrated understanding of the requirements and regulations surrounding clinical trials and SAS.
