Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above position in the Western Sydney Local Health District. The position will be located at Westmead Hospital within the Westmead Executive
The successful applicant will:
Provide strategic and operational leadership within Westmead Hospital ensuring the delivery of relevant programs in a safe, quality, effective and efficient manner.
Facilitate linkages across the Westmead hospital clinical, quality, workforce, allied health and nursing, representing clinical and medical issues to improve health service provision.
Provide general medical administration and professional governance support to Network Clinical Directors, Westmead Medical Advisors and Heads of Departments
Essential Criteria For Appointment:
Successful applicants may be offered a conjoint university appointment within the Faculty of Medicine at the relevant University attached to each facility. The level of academic appointment will be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and scholarship and will be held only during the tenure of the Western Sydney Local Health District appointment. No remuneration is attached to the University appointment. The appointee will be responsible to the University for academic matters and to the District for clinical matters.
Selection Criteria
§ Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice in the specialty.
§ Significant experience and effective performance in a senior leadership role in a complex health organisation and demonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficiently and contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the health care system.
§ Demonstrated understanding and ability to lead clinical governance, clinical risk management and continuous quality improvement management strategies within a complex operating environment.
§ Demonstrated high capability in communication, complex negotiation, consultative and interpersonal skills, incorporating the ability to liaise and consult with all levels of the health industry, the community and various professional groups.
§ Demonstrated ability to lead, persuade and negotiate at a senior management level to achieve a set of objectives, maintain organisational strategy and to ensure alignment with operational activity.
§ Experience managing a large and diverse team, developing effective culture and engagement, inspiring commitment and developing capacity.
§ Demonstrated commitment to Education, Training and Research, as applicable to the position.
