About the Role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
 
Reporting to the Director of Medical Services (DMS) at RPAH, the Operations Manager, RPAH Medical Executive, provides operational and strategic management support to the DMS. The role is responsible for the planning and development needs of the Medical Services Directorate including financial, organisational, physical, and human resources and contributes to service planning and performance monitoring. It focuses on improving performance, quality, reporting and monitoring across all Medical Departments, in alignment with RPAH’s operational objectives.
 
The Operations Manager will coordinate projects and reviews aimed at improving operational efficiency, effectiveness, and overall service quality. They play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of core business functions and provide high level strategic leadership and advice on managing highly sensitive and complex management issues.

Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a clinical or health management field and/or relevant extensive experience.
  • Proven performance in managing and resolving strategic, policy and operational issues and performance management systems of a potentially contentious nature, preferably in a complex health care setting.
  • Extensive project management experience including the proven capacity to concurrently manage multiple projects and to prioritise work to ensure the achievement of project outcomes on time.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the principles, structures and processes of clinical and corporate governance and accreditation of health services.
