About Us

The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs. 

 

This Permanent Full time position is responsible for the Clinical and Operational performance of Community Adult Mental Health Teams in NBMLHD and engages in integration activities in partnership with the Nurse Manager 3. The role is mobile across community sites for a percentage of the week and a percentage of the week spent at the Nepean Mental Health Centre.

Working with the Mental Health team will allow you to meet the needs of staff, patients and their families whilst working in a diverse team demonstrating CORE values whilst providing exceptional person-centered care.

What you will bring to the role 

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Relevant tertiary qualification in health related discipline and/or equivalent extensive senior management experience in a complex health environment.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary issues within the NSW and National Health Care agenda, including in the development of Mental Health Services.
  4. Sound understanding of quality, risk, governance and regulatory systems and processes related to Health Care delivery.
  5. Experience in organisational re-design and change management, with proven ability to drive operational and service reform and positive workplace culture.
  6. Well-developed analytical, conceptual, problem solving and strategic capabilities with exceptional planning and organisational skills.
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including substantial experience in leading high level negotiations and writing complex reports, business cases and briefings.
  8. Demonstrated people management skills, including providing staff support, development, performance management and managing unacceptable workplace behaviour.
