Where you’ll be working

Based at Taree Community Health Service, this role sits within Aged Care Services across the Lower Mid North Coast. You’ll be joining a genuinely supportive and collaborative team environment, backed by an approachable Service Manager and a highly experienced Administration Team—allowing you to focus on delivering quality care, not paperwork. This is a service that values its people, fosters teamwork, and prioritises meaningful outcomes for the community it serves.

What you’ll be doing

  • In this full-time, community-based role, you’ll deliver Occupational Therapy services directly in clients’ homes—where you can make the greatest impact. You’ll support older people, along with their families and carers, to maintain independence, safety, and quality of life.

  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary Community Aged Care Team, you’ll collaborate with a broad network of professionals including Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Geriatricians, Nurse Practitioners, Dementia Support Services, Single Assessment Assessors, and the Transitional Aged Care Program team.

  • This role goes beyond day-to-day clinical work. You’ll also have opportunities to:

  • Build advanced clinical capability

  • Contribute to service development, policies, and procedures

  • Supervise and mentor Occupational Therapy students

  • You’ll be supported to grow within a forward-thinking service that encourages innovation, continuous improvement, and professional development.

About you

You’re a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist who values person-centred care and is driven to support older people to remain living well in their community. You bring:

  • Strong clinical skills and experience in community and/or aged care

  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

  • A proactive approach to learning, development, and service improvement

  • An interest in mentoring or supporting future clinicians

  • Most importantly, you’re someone who wants your work to have purpose and impact.

Requirements

  • Occupational Therapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA

  • Unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence (required for community-based work)

Additional information:

* Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions. If your contract ends before the agreed completion date, you may be required to repay a portion of the incentive. Please note: the increased RHWIS allowance is approved until 30th June 2026. Commencement after this date may be subject to change, including the allowance amount for which the candidate may be eligible.   • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.

  • This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.
