About the Opportunity
Campbelltown Hospital are recruiting for a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead the team within the Anaesthetics & Recovery/Perioperative Services. The experience you bring to this role will allow you to lead the team in providing the best care and outcomes for patients. Your leadership will support, coach and mentor others and facilitate learning and development for the team whilst ensuring safe, quality and compassionate care. You will be able to see potential in others and you will be a person of influence who can drive positive change in the team. As NUM in our Anaesthetics & Recovery/Perioperative Services you will exposed to a complex variety of patients which provides a stimulating and high value learning environment.

The nursing team operate in a highly challenging environment with a high level of support in all areas of the role. Not only do we have extensive support services from AIN’s to wards-people, our senior management team is always available for our NUMs to speak with and assist you with issues or to share their knowledge.

What You'll be Doing

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  2. Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
  3. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
