A Permanent Full time opportunity is now available to join the team in Cardiology as the Coronary Care Nurse Unit Manager Level 2 in a very busy unit located in the new tower building at Nepean Hospital.
Your role as the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is in-charge of all aspects of the unit/ward environment and takes responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit/ward. The NUM is pivotal to the co-ordination of patient/client care, unit/ward management and leadership to enable the delivery of safe, effective, quality nursing care and efficient use of resource.
Working in the Cardiology Unit will allow you to meet the needs of staff, patients and their families whilst working in a diverse team demonstrating CORE values whilst providing exceptional person-centered care. What you will bring to the role:
- Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) AND extensive relevant post registration nursing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to create and support a culture of integrity and professionalism which adheres to legislation and policy.
- Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise and negotiate with clinicians, managers, staff and other key stakeholders.
- Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit/ward are managed to deliver safe and efficient health care within available resources.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate, inspire and manage staff to achieve service and organizational goals utilising change management principles.
- Evidence of and commitment to patient/client/customer focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
- Current Driver’s License and ability to travel within the LHD as required.
