About the role:
Are you graduating from a Dietitians Australia accredited Nutrition and Dietetic degree in 2024? Did you enjoy your clinical dietetics placement? Would you consider undertaking a rural stint? This role offers you the chance to continue building your clinical skills, manage a varied workload, and work within a dedicated multidisciplinary team. You will learn in a supportive environment and have the opportunity to participate in departmental and quality improvement activities.
During your contract, you must be willing to undertake a 3-month rotation in a rural setting (accommodation assistance provided), giving you a unique opportunity to diversify your skill set. You will primarily work on the General Medical ward as a valued member of the multidisciplinary team. This is a well-supported graduate program, with embedded professional development, monthly dietetic education sessions and supervision provided by a team of experienced dietitians. You will have access to regular clinical supervision. This role will provide you the opportunity to continue to build your clinical skills, manage a varied workload, work within a dedicated multidisciplinary team, learn in a supported environment and potentially to be involved in departmental and quality improvement activities
Essential Requirements:
- Must complete your final year of a nutrition and dietetics degree in 2024, providing full membership of Dietitians Australia.
- Willingness to provide an academic transcript and have your final clinical placement supervisor as a referee.

John Hunter Hospital (JHH) is the largest tertiary teaching hospital outside Sydney, offering a range of Medical, Surgical, Maternity and Critical Care services. You will be joining a team of 25 dietitians ranging from new graduates, student educators, clinical specialists and dietetic leaders that work across John Hunter Hospital (JHH), Belmont District hospital (BDH) and Rankin Park Centre (RPC).
