Where you'll be working

Population and Community Health (PaCH) is part of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
 
PaCH provides community health services that give care to individuals, families and carers, as well as population health services that focus on the whole community or key groups within the community.
 
PaCH's services are provided at the District's hospitals, community-based facilities including child and family health centres, community health centres and specialist clinics. We work with other service providers across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, including hospitals and mental health services.

This role is negotiable between 2 locations our Locations at Engadine & Woolloomooloo.

What you'll be doing

This role will be responsible for providing expert advice and services on all facets of Data Governance and Reporting (DGR) to Population and Community Health (PaCH). The role has a specific focus on the provision of a range of DGR support to PaCH to achieve the business and service objectives.

Our ideal candidate can plan, coordinate, lead, and manage human, financial, material, and capital resources to provide a cost-effective, quality service that meets key performance indicators and financial accountabilities of Data Governance and Reporting in Community Health Information Management Unit (CHIMU).


The Manager Data Quality, Governance and Reporting is crucial for ensuring the integrity, quality, and compliance of PaCH data assets. The primary duties involve developing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and standards to maintain data assets' accuracy, consistency, and security. Implementing these duties involves managing a team consisting of a Metadata Analyst, a Reporting Analyst, and Data Analysts.
 
The Manager Data Quality, Governance and Reporting plays a critical role in establishing a strong foundation for effective data management, ensuring that data is reliable, secure, and aligned with organisational goals.


Along with strong people management skills, excellent intercommunication skills, it is highly desirable that the successful candidate is familiar with PowerBI and SQL.

Selection Criteria: 

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Data Science/Data Analytics or relevant equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience.
  2. Demonstrated strong leadership skills to enhance staff performance, influence workplace culture, and lead change.
  3. Extensive knowledge of contemporary issues in Data Governance and Reporting.
  4. Demonstrated high-level verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills with a strong customer service approach.
  5. Demonstrated high-level analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to provide authoritative advice and recommendations across a large and complex organisation.
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, and other key stakeholders.
  7. Demonstrated experience in planning and evaluation at strategic and service levels within a high-volume dynamic work environment.
  8. Willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
