About the Role
Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
The Haematology Clinical Trials Unit at RPA Hospital is seeking a Start-up and Regulatory Officer to play a central role in supporting the regulatory and ethics framework that underpins our clinical research program.
This role focuses on preparing, coordinating and managing ethics and governance submissions across multiple studies. You will develop a strong understanding of research protocols and oversee key regulatory documentation, including clinical trial notifications, ethics applications, site governance submissions, contracts and indemnities, ensuring studies are activated efficiently compliantly and in alignment with all applicable regulatory and quality standards.
Working closely with investigators and the research team, you will support timely study start-up, maintain essential documentation, track approvals and amendments throughout the lifecycle of each project, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth submission processes and ongoing compliance.
This role requires exceptional organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise across multiple active studies while maintaining accuracy and compliance. A collaborative approach, clear communication skills and sound judgement will be essential in navigating complex governance processes and building productive working relationships with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
If you are motivated by strengthening research governance and supporting high-quality, ethically conducted clinical trials that improve outcomes for patients with haematological conditions, we invite you to join our team and play a key role in the continued success of haematology research at RPA Hospital.
