About the Opportunity 
The position is responsible for the provision of a broad range of therapeutic and support services for children, young people and adults who have experienced sexual assault as well as their non-offending parents/carers and significant others.

This response includes:

  •      Case management, counselling, crisis counselling, advocacy and support during medical examinations.

  •      Intake, assessment, case planning and referral functions,

  •      Participation on the afterhours sexual assault roster

  •      Court preparation and court support

What You'll be Doing
This position will have a professional development plan in place that will provide the opportunity for work based development which allows for progression through the Award levels in accordance with the incumbent’s skill acquisition.


Where You'll Be Working 
SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

 

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

 

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

  1. Being a woman is a genuine requirement for this position under Section 31.2H of the Anti- Discrimination Act 1977.
  2. Degree in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant counselling degree deemed appropriate by employer or completion in in the ECAV pathway, with demonstrated cultural expertise.
  3. Tell us about a time you worked collaboratively with legal services, medical staff, or social services in a sexual assault case. How did you ensure the survivor’s needs remained central throughout the process?
  4. Can you describe how you apply trauma-informed care principles when supporting survivors of sexual assault, particularly in culturally diverse communities.
  5. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
