About the Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. The Aboriginal Liaison Officer (ALO) has an important role in the care, assistance and support of First Nations peoples accessing health services within the hospital setting. The ALO acts as a liaison supporting the consumer, the family and Health Service staff, and assists with accessing other services relevant to the needs of the patient, their family, carers and friends. This position is targeted to female candidates and will work alongside our male ALO to respect Women’s Business and Men’s Business.

Ideal Candidate
- Qualifications related to Health or Allied Health field or equivalent experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of Aboriginal culture and social issues in relation to health matters.
- Knowledge of community issues and experience in networking, demonstrating a broad knowledge of the services available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1977.
