What You'll Be Doing:

The Handyman is responsible for working and providing assistance to all trade staff not limited to other designated duties on the Prince of Wales Hospital Campus & associated health services within portfolio.

Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated handyperson experience in maintenance of large building complexes and facility maintenance, preferably hospitals, and able to work as part of a team in a busy work environment.
- Demonstrated handyperson skills including the use of a variety of tools and equipment, installation of minor fixtures and fittings, general building maintenance and repairs and moving of furniture and equipment.
- Able to demonstrate good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision while following safe work practices.
- Proven skills in fault finding and problem solving, including the ability to interpret building and services plans.
- Proven ability to work and cooperate with a multidisciplinary team of trade, non-trade, and contract staff to efficiently deliver maintenance services.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills. Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and work order systems. Interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively personally and within a team environment in the workplace.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Work, Health and Safety and preferably hold a current white card Occupational Health and Safety General Induction for Construction in NSW Certificate.
- Current drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
