Mental Health Drug and Alcohol (MHDA) need an Engagement Manager with experience, commitment and passion for consumer engagement in MHDA services, peer workforce development and community participation.

What you'll be doing
This is a key leadership role across three primary portfolios – consumer engagement, community participation and strategic communications: peer workforce development. The position provides largely strategic and policy-based leadership, direction and support for the organisation across these portfolio areas.
In the context of ACSQHC National Standards Accreditation, the position has responsibility for Standard 2: Partnering with Consumers, along with criteria across other Standards which relate to consumer participation.
The Consumer Engagement element involves strategic management and growth of the consumer peer workforce and consumer advisors, with a goal of a systematised, fair, equitable service is provided and evaluated across the mental health drug & alcohol
service. It also includes ensuring opportunities for consumer participation across MHDA services; and the implementation of consumer experience measures across MHDA.
The Community Engagement and strategic communications element includes ensuring contemporary and ongoing opportunities for engagement are available to the broader community and to our staff, including responsibility for the newsletter, public forums and social media-based initiatives. Community Engagement strategies are evolving and responsive to community and staff wants and needs.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or high-level extensive experience in the management of community and consumer engagement; ability to develop, monitor and achieve outcomes of MHDA and portfolio strategic and business plans, guide and motivate staff through this process.
- What are the contemporary issues, challenges and directions for consumer engagement/participation and consumer peer workforce within mental health and drug and alcohol services?
- Describe a project or system change you have managed from inception through to evaluation and completion, including financial and personnel management and included development, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based policies and procedures.
- When and where have you managed events, and/or facilitated meetings and groups/forums, including multidisciplinary groups/diverse groups of stakeholders, and how you can a demonstrate a high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and experience at all levels of the organisation with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders?
