About the role
The Dubbo Drug & Alcohol Team are passionate about working with clients D&A problems.  The team has four programs – MERIT and Drug Court, Substance Use in Pregnancy and Parenting program and psychosocial program.  MERIT/Drug court have 6 staff; SUPPPS have 1.5 staff and psychosocial (counselling) team have 4 staff based in Dubbo, 1 staff based at Coonabarabran, 1 staff based at Lightning Ridge and 1 staff based in Bourke.

Supporting people accessing Community Drug and Alcohol services by promoting collaborative decision making, engagement, choice and empowerment in their individual treatment and recovery.

 

Working with clients and staff to facilitate the best possible outcomes for our client group.

Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team to implement effective and planned peer support activities, this could be running peer led groups. Community Drug and Alcohol Multidisciplinary team, Community services including NGO’S

Participate in reflective practice, including active involvement in regular peer supervision, to ensure own continuous professional practice improvement and development. Participate at regular forums, committee meetings, staff in-service days, drug and alcohol workshops and working parties, as appropriate and requested. Where approved, contribute to the education of others, including health professionals, in the development and delivery of a range of training/education to colleagues and the wider community about issues affecting people accessing drug and alcohol services.
