About us:
You will be working within the District Violence, Abuse and Neglect Team. We are a supportive team who are highly committed to the prevention of violence, abuse and neglect and providing care to victim survivors. The location for this role is Taree.
About the role:
You will be working in partnership with the Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Forensic CNC to pilot a new model of response for DFV victim/ survivors. Your role will include risk assessment, safety planning, counselling and case coordination with DFV victim survivors. You will be working in clinic settings, providing in reach to the acute setting and collaborating with local GP’s, Aboriginal organisations and local DFV Services.
You will be well supported in this role operationally and clinically by the DFV Projects Manager and local VAN leads and clinicians. This includes in person orientation, ongoing team meetings, and supervision. Education and professional development needs will be identified and supported.
About you:
We are looking for a Social Worker with the confidence and initiative to trial a new model of care as well as someone with excellent skills working with victims of DFV and an openness to continually evaluate their own practice and the new model.
Requirements:
- Being a female is recognised as a genuine occupation qualification and is authorised under section 31 (2h) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 2.
- Relevant qualification in Bachelor of Social Work with eligibility for membership to Australian Association of Social Workers. To be appointed as a Level 3 Health Professional, evidence must be provided of three years' clinical experience and demonstrated experience of extensive specialist knowledge or a high level of broad generalist knowledge within the discipline as defined by the award definitions of a level 3 practitioner.
- Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel.
