About the Role

Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) is seeking a passionate and experienced leader to join our team as the PARVAN Service Manager, Manning and Hunter Valley.

This is a key leadership role responsible for providing operational, strategic and clinical oversight across a range of critical, trauma-informed services supporting individuals, families and communities impacted by violence, abuse and neglect.

You will lead and manage services including:

  • Manning Emergency Department Integrated VAN Afterhours Crisis Service
  • Child Protection Counselling Services (Manning and Muswellbrook)
  • Sexual Assault Services (Manning and Muswellbrook)
  • Sexual Assault Medical Lead - Manning

Working at the frontline of crisis response, therapeutic care and system advocacy, you will play a pivotal role in delivering integrated, trauma-informed care that supports safety, recovery and long-term wellbeing.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide strong operational, strategic and clinical leadership across multiple service streams
  • Foster a positive, high-performing team culture that values wellbeing, innovation and cultural safety
  • Drive service quality, governance and workforce capability in line with NSW Health frameworks
  • Strengthen partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery
  • Lead service development, innovation and system improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to policy, clinical practice and broader system change to improve outcomes

 

About You

You are a values-driven and authentic leader who thrives in complex environments and is committed to delivering culturally safe, trauma and violence informed care.

You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and building a positive, engaged workforce culture
  • Significant experience working with individuals and families impacted by violence, abuse and neglect
  • Strong operational management skills within complex health or human services environments
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policy frameworks and service systems
  • Proven ability to engage, influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders and partner agencies
  • Experience leading change, innovation and service improvement initiatives
  • A strong commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practice

Our Prevention and Response to Violence, Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) services deliver specialist, trauma-informed services across the Manning and Hunter Valley regions.

Our teams work across crisis intervention, counselling services, medical and forensic response and systems advocacy services, supporting children, young people, families and communities to achieve safer and healthier futures. We are committed to human rights, self-determination and integrated care, recognising that timely and effective responses reduce long terms health impacts associated with violence, abuse and neglect .
