Who we are:
The Deniliquin CMHAOD team is the third largest of six CMHAOD teams across Murrumbidgee LHD. The CMHAOD team has approximately 12 multidisciplinary clinicians and a range of support staff, who provide MH AOD services, across the life span from a site in the main street of Deniliquin.
We work closely with MyStep and other community organisations to ensure people receive the right care for their needs. At a district level we have access to clinical leaders for MH, AOD and other specialty services such as Aboriginal Mental Health, eating disorders and Perinatal Infant Mental Health.
What you’ll be doing:
The Consumer Peer Worker is responsible and accountable to the local Specialist Community Mental Health (CMH) Team Leader and will work collaboratively as part of the CMH multidisciplinary team to implement effective and planned peer led recovery activities as agreed and appropriate within the service. The MLHD MHDA Coordinator, Consumer Participation Strategy will work alongside the CMH Manager and the CMH Team Leaders to provide strategic direction to the consumer peer workforce, and guidance and regular supervision to the Consumer Peer Worker in relation to their roles and professional development.
Your contribution as a healthcare professional will have a meaningful and positive impact, which is felt at a community level.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Personal lived experience
- NSW WWCC
- Driver’s license
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (Consumer) or commitment to undertake within 18 months of commencement.
